Our standard
We aim to meet the internationally recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which explain how to make web content more perceivable, operable, understandable and robust for people with a wide range of disabilities.
What we do
- Write in plain, clear language and structure articles with proper headings;
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images;
- Design for readable colour contrast and text that can be resized;
- Support keyboard navigation and a logical reading order;
- Use semantic, standards-based markup so assistive technologies can interpret our pages.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one-time task. We test and improve the site over time, and new content and features are reviewed with accessibility in mind. Some older content or third-party elements — such as embedded media or advertising — may not yet fully meet our target, and we address issues as we find them.
