Key & Peele

Key and Peele, the comedy duo made up of Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key, have been entertaining audiences with their hysterical sketches for years. They became famous after appearing on MADtv, but it was their sketch comedy show that inspired an entirely new generation of sketch comedy performers like the Angry Video Game Nerd and the late John DiMaggio.

The comedy duo is famous for its use of deadpan humour and the rapid-fire delivery of funny lines. In recent years, the pair has become known for its satirical takes on pop culture and current events.

The show was launched in 2012 and ran through 2015. During its five seasons, the show earned five Primetime Emmy Award nominations, two Writers Guild of America Award nominations, two NAACP Image Awards, and a Peabody Award. The duo also released a book of sketches from the series in 2014.

Format of Key and Peele

Key and Peele is a sketch comedy series that revolves around the titular characters, Key and Peele. Key – played by Jordan Peele – is the edgier of the two, while Keegan-Michael Key – played by Keegan-Michael Key – represents a more innocent side of the duo.

Each episode begins with Peele and Keely walking through a door on a set in front of giant red curtains. Once they walk past these curtains, however, the two become animated into their respective characters.

The sketches are often written on the spot and incorporate both the Key and Peele characters, as well as many other characters that appear without fail each season.

Background of the series

The duo began writing their hit sketch comedy show in 2007, after their departure from “Mad TV”. They both felt that there was a lack of comedy sketches about race and culture in the entertainment industry. After trying to get a variety show on Comedy Central for several years, the duo finally found success with their sketch comedy series on Comedy Central.

The show’s third season featured several recurring sketches which became staples of the series, including “The Cohiba”; an homage to the Cuban cigars used by Cuban refugees fleeing Cuba.

Does Netflix have Key and Peele?

The short answer is no, Netflix does not currently stream Key and Peele.

The show is available on demand, via Amazon Prime and Hulu. However, this is a far cry from being able to stream the iconic show for free on Netflix.

Key and Peele announced in early 2015 that the show would be coming to a close after its fifth season. The popular sketch comedy series has been off the air for a few years now, but that hasn’t stopped fans from craving more of their favourite sketches with every passing day.
