The Boys Spinoff: ”Gen V” Gets a Very Frustrating Release on Prime Video

There has been a lot of excitement surrounding The Boys spinoff series Gen V, mostly after its 1st trailer was released last month. The series will further extend the universe of the shocking, but cherished superhero series, recording the adventures of young superheroes at an in-universe college. As we await the release of Gen V — along with The Boys’ upcoming fourth season — the streaming assistance home of both series just provided a preliminary update.

What is Gen V about?

Gen V will follow the adventures of six superheroes Homelander, Black No More, Mother’s Milk, The Deep, Flamingo, and White Lightning as they solve mysteries at their college campus. It is set in the same universe as both The Boys and the upcoming fourth season.

We are writing furiously, The Boys creator Eric Kripke (American author), who executive produces the spinoff sequel, revealed to The Hollywood Reporter in a consultation last year. “I think it’s coming along great. It’s exciting in that sort of perverse Marvel way in the way that different Marvel projects are very different: One is a thriller, and one’s a comicness. This feels like that, too, but with a lot more dick jokes.

Gen V: Filming

Filming started at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus in May 2022 and the Claireville (Neighbourhood in Canada) Conservation Area, Brampton (a city in the Canadian province of Ontario) in July, intentional for an October wrap, under the working title of The Boys Presents: Varsity. In  2022, July it was announced that the show would officially be entitled, Gen V. In 2022 September of the cast members announced on social media platforms that production has wrapped.

Gen V: Plot 

Young adult Supes are tried in The Hunger Games-style challenges at the Godolkin University School of crime-busting, run by Vought multinational.

Gen V: Release Date

The show is set concurrently with the fourth season of The Boys and is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2023. The actual release date has not been established which will be revealed later. As, the shooting began at the University of Toronto Mississauga dorm in 2022 May and the Claireville Conservation sector, Brampton in July, intended for an October wrap, under the operating title of The Boys Presents: Varsity.

In September 2022 the cast members announced on social media that the show has wrapped. On the other hand, Eric Kripke also verified the news on his Twitter handle, quoting, “Now that the cat is out of the bag, I can officially declare my new producing partner moppet. Gen V: First Look Trailer

The first look trailer for Gen V was released on May 7 and it’s set to arrive sometime between now and December 31st of this year. The official trailer of the series was released last month and the start of a new trailer was fixed on February 1 this year. The latest first-look trailer of the series is set to arrive sometime between now and December 31st of this year. The official teaser trailer was released on May 18, 2019.
