Barbie

Barbie is an upcoming unrealistic comedy movie directed by Greta Gerwig (an American actress) and written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach (an American film director). Based on the Barbie fashion dolls by Mattel from Ruth Handler, the film is the first live-action Barbie film after several computer-animated direct-to-video and streaming television films. The film stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, with a supporting ensemble cast that includes Will Ferrell (American actor), Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey (French-British actress), Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, and Kate McKinnon.

The film was announced in 2009 by Universal Pictures with Laurence Mark producing, but the story began in April 2014, when Sony Pictures acquired its rights. Following multiple writers and director changes and the casting of two other actresses to play the title role, Sony lost the rights and these were subsequently transmitted to Warner Bros. Pictures. Robbie was cast in 2019 and served as a producer under her LuckyChap Entertainment banner, alongside Mattel Films and Heyday Films. Gerwig was confirmed as leader and co-writer with Baumbach in 2021. Gosling and the rest of the cast were announced in early 2022, and shooting began that March in England, swathing in July.

Barbie release trailer?

The film’s first trailer was released on the film’s Instagram account on September 17, 2022. The second trailer was released on October 11, 2022.

The trailer starts with a hilarious 2001: A Space Odyssey homage, as we know how the doll industry in this nation went from manufacturing babies to Barbies. Then, we bring all-too-brief glimpses of Robbie, Gosling, Issa Rae, and Simu Liu hamming it up in Gerwig’s dreamscape. The film hits theaters next year, and we are patiently waiting to see what unfolds. In the meantime, watch the trailer below and read on for everything you need to know regarding the upcoming Barbie film 2023.

Barbie release poster?

It has been said that Margot Robbie will perform the part of Barbie in a live-action movie for Sony Pictures, although it will not be based on any particular Mattel product or character. It is unclear if this is the same Barbie film referred to in several other articles related to this Wikipedia article.

Who Is Starring in Barbie?

Gosling will star as opposed to Robbie (as a broke Ken). This may sound like a natural choice, but even though he loved the script, Gosling required a little push to take the role. Well, that push arrived in the form of a Ken doll face down… in the dirt… next to a lemon. Talking on The Tonight Show, Gosling opened up to host Jimmy Fallon about how he finally decided to accept after receiving the initial offer.

“Best script I’ve ever read. I step out on the lawn and, do you know where I saw Ken, Jimmy?”.I texted (the picture) to Greta and said, ‘I shall be your Ken, for his story must be related.

What is Barbie about?

This we cannot say for foolproof. However, we do know that there are some twisting that lay ahead and that the film is probably not heading to be a straight, fluffy film á la Barbie Life in The Dreamhouse.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Robbie (an Australian actress and producer) confirmed as much. “People now have an idea of, ‘Oh, Margot is recreating Barbie, I comprehend what that is,’ she said, But our purpose is to be like, Whatever you are assuming, we are going to give you something different the thing you didn’t know you liked.’

The rumors of the movie harboring multiple Barbies have been approved by Sex Education and Death on The Nile alum, Mackey. Talking to Empire, Mackey said a sleepover amongst the Barbie cast has fans talking. Right, in the beginning, we had a sleepover for the Barbies, which would involve recreating games with Scott (Evans) and Ncuti (Gatwa), she said.

She subsequently counted that Barbie is soft and funny and stupid and American and pink. Rest assured, it wants to cause you to cry. It is very unexpected in many ways, Mackey stated. I think people are moving to have an idea of the flick, and I don’t think it’s going to be that. It’s going to be a shock. And it’s a comedy, thank God. Not crying in this film Let me inform you that. It was amazing to do pure funniness (an American comedy).”
