Black Mirror Season

The new season of Black Mirror has been released. You may be wondering what is Black Mirror? It’s a TV show that focuses on the dark side of technology and how it affects our lives. Each episode stands alone, but there are some connections between them as well. This review will discuss the pros and cons of this season, provide casting information, and tell you when it came out!

Pros:

The new season seems to be a continuation of the story from Black Mirror. It’s also been confirmed that this is going to be one 40-minute episode with no series connection or sequels (as opposed to how it was done in Season One, Two, and Four). That being said, there are connections between episodes!

Cons:

Many fans have noticed that some of the best parts were taken out from older seasons, which can make viewers feel like they’re missing something. There has been an increase in dark scenes too – so get ready for your adrenaline levels to rise as well! This may not be suitable for kids under 18 years old.

Released:

Black Mirror was released on December 29th, 2018. This season contains six episodes with a total runtime of about four hours and twenty minutes. It has been confirmed that the new season is going to be one 40-minute episode without any connection or sequels (as opposed to what it’s done in Season One, Two, and Four). There are connections between episodes! The show includes dark scenes which may not suit children under 18 years old. With this being said, Black Mirror continues its story from previous seasons while also including some changes for a better TV viewing experience; such as making sure there isn’t too much pressure when watching an entire series all at once (which can feel like a stressful task), as well as adding more variety in the types and lengths of episodes.

The first episode, “USS Callister”, is about a software engineer who creates virtual reality technology to escape his life as an office drone. However, one day he finds out that the people in this world are just copies of real humans from which he’s stolen their DNA without their knowledge or consent.” -“Arkangel,” next and third on the list, tells the story of a single mother whose daughter is using new technologies that are being developed for kids but with some serious risks involved (such as not knowing where her child goes when she uses them). The fourth installment entitled “Crocodile” takes us back into more familiar territory: An experimental detective show set in London during 1982.

The sixth season of Black Mirror is finally here, and we couldn’t be more excited. The first episode aired last Friday night with the promise of six new episodes to come. So what can you expect from Season Six? Well for one, it’s a lot darker than previous seasons have been – each story has an unsettling sense that things are never going to go right (which isn’t always true in past seasons). Perhaps unsurprisingly, there were some moments where I found myself feeling anxious or even nervous about the development of events on screen as they unfolded; something which hasn’t happened before when watching Black Mirror. A notable difference this year is that only four out of six episodes feature stories in America while all others take place elsewhere in the world.

The new season of Black Mirror is finally here and it’s more terrifying than ever! Season Six kicked off last Friday with “Smithereens” – a story about an Uber driver who gets caught up in a terrorist plot, which was followed by “Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too”. The latter follows fictional pop star Rachel as she deals with her fame being co-opted for political use against her will; while we were given another classic take on our obsession with surveillance from Charlie Brooker. There are still four episodes to come this October so make sure you’re watching them all before they air (don’t worry, there’ll be lots of time between each one). If you’ve never seen Black Mirror before then be prepared for some real, uncomfortable terror – it’s an intense and unsettling experience that stays with you.

“Smithereens” is a really great start to the new season of Black Mirror, starting with a bang in its opening scene as we watch our protagonist gets shot at by terrorists on live TV before being whisked away from danger into his Uber driver Mercedes! The episode then delves deep into politics when he starts looking over footage of Ashley Too’s concerts (now turned political rallies) while also getting caught up in their edgy plot against her will. “Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too” gives us another scary look at where technology can take humanity.

ratings:

B+

This season is very dark. There are some good episodes, but it can be hard to watch when you’re not in the mood for a heavy show. The visuals and cinematography are still great though, with “Hang the DJ” being an interesting exception because of its upbeat tone despite having an unsettling premise.

The last episode was also quite disturbing, with twists that will really make your skin crawl while giving you food for thought at the same time – definitely worth watching if only once!

I would recommend this season as something lighthearted after finishing Taboo or Black Mirror: Bandersnatch so you don’t get too depressed by how terrible humanity might turn out to be someday.
