Marvel Studios has chosen a new director to take over ‘Blade’. Yann Demange will be given the task of directing the latest iteration of ‘Blade’, which will bring us back to the original story from 1998 with Wesley Snipes in the lead role. Demange is best known for his work on White Boy Rick, a film about a 14-year-old white kid who becomes an undercover informant for police in 1980s Detroit. He will step into the director’s chair for the first time in his career after previously directing several short films. Demange is going to have a big job on his hands, as Blade doesn’t have nearly as many fans as some of Marvel’s other properties.

Who is ‘Blade’ ?

‘Blade’ is a half-human, half-vampire who hunts vampires. He’s also one of Marvel’s most popular characters, rising to prominence in the late ’90s. In recent years, he has been seen in groups such as The Avengers and The Defenders. He was created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan for a 1973 comic book run about a private investigator named Stakar Ogord, who transforms into the vampire hunter ‘Blade’.

But since Marvel Studios doesn’t own the rights to Blade yet, they’ll have to be a bit more creative with his origin story.

Why is ‘Blade’ such a big deal ?

The character was one of Marvel’s first attempts at making their own superhero universe, way before they became the cinematic powerhouses they are today. Though ‘Blade’  was created by two freelancers, he has become one of the biggest names in the history of comics and superheroes alike.

Why is ‘Blade’ so popular ?

There are a lot of factors, but it does help that he’s one of the few Marvel characters to be both a star and an underdog. He’s also more than just a hero, but an anti-hero due to his violent job. With all the villains and horror creatures out there, some may think his job is boring or unappealing. But ‘Blade’ has always been one of the most badass heroes in the Marvel universe and always makes for great entertainment for fans around the world.

Why was ‘Blade’ created ?

‘Blade’ was created by Gene Colan and Marv Wolfman, both of whom were trying to make a vampire into a sympathetic character. The two were inspired by the popularity of Dracula at the time, and thought that with a little spin on it, they could make their own vampire with actual characteristics. Because vampires were so popular in comics at the time, they figured that their vampire character would be nearly as popular.

When was ‘Blade’ Appearance in Marvel’s Comics ?

Blade first appeared in Marvel Comics 36, released on October 18, 1973. The character was created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan and ultimately made his debut in 1971’s Tomb of Dracula #10. The comic book series starred as a human turned into a vampire before he fights against his bloodsucker cousins.

A brief fact about Blade is that he became the first African-American superhero to have his own live-action movie. Marvel Comics 36 was Blade’s original debut appearance in comics. It was released on October 18, 1973 .

Why is Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘Blade’ so hype ?

After the back to back success and movies like Avenger Endgame. Marvel launched Mahershala Ali as a Blade. In comics, Blade is one of the most dangerous heroes. Although he is Half – human and Half – Vampire , but he killed many Vampire and he want to kill Dracula. and if this character is play by actor like Mahershala Ali (who win 2 Academy Award) is the best decision by MCU
