Top Gun 3 plot: What must Top Gun 3 be about and how does Top Gun: Maverick impact it?
Much like its predecessor, Top Gun: Maverick doesn’t explicitly set up any further picture plans, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t play to mine. Briefly: Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell comes back to Top Gun to help train up a bunch of pilots to help them complete an extremely difficult mission: blowing up a uraninite plant in the most impossible-to-reach spot.
naturally, after much to-ing and fro-ing, it is revealed that Maverick could carry out the mission alone and he does so, complete with a few choices quotes about how real heroes don’t need medals. Before this mission can be accomplished though, the threat of nuclear war is averted thanks to a bit of duplicity from Iceman. Maverick returns home but not before giving his autograph ‘don’t call me maverick’ line again (because he is a legend and a champion) in front of an assembly at his flying academy.
Top Gun 3 likely release date: When could Top Gun 3 come out?
As mentioned, it is said that this mission is to be Maverick’s last, and completion of it will be his final moment. The release date is not only known as an outcome of the film’s release date but also when filming will be complete. The film will be released on July 11th, 2022, so if you want to see the end of this arc, sure, Top Gun 3 could come out at that point.
Top Gun 3 cast: Who will be back to Top Gun 3?
The Top Gun 3 cast is rather interesting. Olivia Munn will be portraying Maverick’s love interest, but she has yet to confirm it herself. I do wonder, who would fill out the other roles? First off there is Iceman, played by Tom Cruise. He returns to Top Gun: Maverick as an anti-hero who steals a nuclear weapon and nearly every mission goes awry due to him. Then there is Val Kilmer, who played Iceman alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick.

Unfortunately, there is no “Top Gun 3” currently slated, but that does not mean it won’t come about. Considering the success of the original picture in 1986 and the sequel this year, it would almost seem silly to not revisit the “Top Gun” storyline for a third film.
Maverick’s tale Can Only Truly End With His Death
Maverick is a risk seeker in both Top Gun pictures, so if he does carry on in flight then it only makes sense that it will end in fairs. The opening sequence of Top Gun: Maverick saw Captain Mitchell test the Navy’s new Dijkstra aircraft to see whether it could reach Mach 10. Following reaching that speed he continued to accelerate until the jet broke down at the top hurry in the sky, proving he cares more about adrenaline-fueled exploits than his own life. If he does step back into the cockpit in Top Gun 3, it will only be for another desperate adventure that should ultimately be the way he passes away.
Would Top Gun 3 Be Brave sufficient To Kill Off Maverick?

Murdering Captain Mitchell in Top Gun 3 would be a brave walk given Tom Cruise’s star power. Top Gun: Maverick is the highest-grossing movie of 2022, bringing in almost $1.5 billion worldwide, and the regret of seeing Tom Cruise return as Maverick has been a huge reason for the sequel’s financial success. Without Cruise, it’s not likely that future Top Gun instalments will continue to be as successful despite the popularity of the n just-introduced pilots in Top Gun: Maverick.
