This week Mattel, the toy company behind the Barbie doll, announced that it would be making a movie about her life. The film will be an animated take on a Barbie sitcom which aired in 1961.
The series was originally made in the 60s to promote Barbie dolls, but now Mattel and Paramount Pictures are hoping that the movie will give Barbie and her friends a new lease of life.
In fact, audiences and critics have not only been interested in the film, but also got a chance to learn about their favourite characters. There are mixed feelings about the movie now, but it does seem like everyone has forgotten how controversial the TV show was during its time, so there may be an interest in it again.
In fact, the Barbie doll was created in 1959 by Ruth Handler, who was the vice president of merchandising for Mattel. She names the doll after her daughter Barbie. She later explained that the reason for using her name was the fact that Barbara (Barbie) is a very sweet girl and she wanted to create an icon that girls could relate to easily. In fact, Barbie’s boyfriend in the series was named Ken and he also came from a working class family.

Matt Bennett—Ken’s best friend, voiced by Ben Schwartz. He is described by Schwartz as a “Jerry Maguire type”, and kind of “goofy”. In an interview with Ryan Hansen, he said that he wrote most of his own lines in it. He also said that it was his first voiceover job, he did it because the script was really funny and one of the few roles where you get to play a character who has such a good heart and is also funny.
What is the Barbie about
There has been a lot of chatter about what the upcoming Barbie movie will be about, but nothing confirmed so far.
It was reported that Schumer’s version of the film would have centred on Barbie getting kicked out of the perfect world she lives in for not being perfect enough and finding her way in a real-world adventure.
“People don’t have any idea what to expect [with the film], and I think that that’s the right vibe,” Ferrera (American Actress) told PEOPLE about the film’s secretive plot. WhateVER you think , it’s not that. It’s something else.

When Does Barbie Release Date?
It was announced in 2016 that the film will be released on July 21, 2023.
It is not known yet when the Barbie movie will hit cinemas. However, the film is expected to begin production later this year.
The much-anticipated film has a release date of March 29th, 2020. It will be produced by Sony and Mattel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The DVD and Blu-ray version of the movie will be released on August 7th 2020 as well.

Ryan Gosling Ken, said to be a “complete doofus”, is obese with Barbie, but loves the real world for all the reasons Barbie hates it [beauty standards Barbie, sexism, etc.]. Gerbig’s film eventually becomes a “big fish out of water comedy” as Ken and Barbie leave “Barbie ” for the real world and the Mattel CEO (Will Ferrell) goes after the duo to bring them back to Barbie.
The actress behind Barbie’s voice is an American actress named Jodi Benson.
Yes, the singer and actress is best known for her work in Disney’s The Little Mermaid (1989) and has the same name as Barbie’s friend, a blonde bombshell of a girl who can make anyone fall in love with her when she strikes a pose.
What is interesting to note here is that in the original series Benson did not provide Barbie with an actual speaking voice. Instead, Barbie only made chirping noises while interacting with others on screen. In fact, it was largely left up to audiences to ascribe whatever personality they wanted onto Barbie through how they found her character acted in the stories that were played out each episode.
