Why You Should Be Excited for Sherlock Season 5

Sherlock Season five is coming back in January, and this blog post provides insight into what might happen. The show has been on hiatus since 2014 with a special episode aired last year which was set to be the conclusion. However, it’s not over yet! There are still many questions left unanswered about how exactly did John Watson survive being drugged by his archenemy Charles Augustus Magnussen? How will he face up to Mycroft Holmes now that they have come to an understanding? And finally, when can we expect new episodes? All these answers may very well become clear soon enough after BBC releases more information.

What we know so far:

After three years of hiatus, Sherlock Season five is back in January. The series will consist of four episodes and the first one airs on New Year’s Day! We also now know that it’s not over yet as there are many questions left unanswered about how exactly did John Watson survive being drugged by his archenemy Charles Augustus Magnussen? How will he face up to Mycroft Holmes now that they have come to an understanding? And finally, when can we expect new episodes? All these answers may very well become clear soon enough after BBC releases more information. Stay tuned for updates!

Cast for Sherlock Season Five:

The cast for the fifth season of Sherlock has not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned to find out who is playing each character and what their role will be in this upcoming series!

It was confirmed last year by BBC One Controller Charlotte Moore that Benedict Cumberbatch would return again for his fifth consecutive turn playing John Watson.

Stay tuned to find out more about where John Watson was during his time away from the public eye, how he’s going to deal with Mycroft Holmes now that they’ve made up after a long distaste between one another, and also when BBC is set to release new episodes so we can finally get answers as well. All these questions may very well become clear if you stay on top of all new information being released by the bigwigs at BBC.

The Wait is finally over:

If you’re anything like me then you have been counting down the days until Sherlock Season Four hit BBC One screens in January 2016 because things were taking too long to come to fruition for my liking! But it’s finally time again for another instalment–and all this waiting has paid off as well: “Sherlock” Season Five is set to premiere on January 15th at nine PM.

While we are still waiting on a trailer (though it will likely show up here in due time), there have been some tantalising teases for what to expect from Sherlock Season Five, such as two new characters–one who is heavily involved with government intelligence and another who used to work at Scotland Yard–and an overall darker tone that may involve “terrorists or serial killers”. It seems fitting then that series co-creator Steven Moffat has described this season’s storyline as being about “how everything’s gone wrong.”
