lost in space season 3 1

As the anticipation for the third season of Lost in Space, we have compiled a list of details to get you ready. The show will be premiering on Netflix on April 13th with all 10 episodes available for streaming. This is an original series based off the 1965 sci-fi adventure TV show which was about a family who got lost in space and had to survive while being chased by an evil alien force called “The Robot” and its minions.

Cast:

In this story, we follow the Robinson Family as they come together in a whole new world after their father John Robinson (Toby Stephens) sends his wife Maureen (Molly Parker) and their three children: Judy (Taylor Russell), Penny (Mina Sundwall) and Will (Maxwell Jenkins). The show will pick up where the family was last seen, fighting to survive in this new world.

Lost in Space Season 3 Review:

Lost in Space is back with a bang as viewers get an intriguing start to what seems like another memorable season. But it does take a while for everything to come together and at times feels a bit predictable. It’s not until episodes six or seven that we see some interesting developments. This season also has more than its share of good one-liners but they are few and far between – something I found really disappointing considering how witty the first two seasons were throughout their runtimes. There are still enough moments of excitement, however, especially when the robot finally shows itself!

The opening scene sets up this new show beautifully recreating space as well as those feelings from childhood where you lose your parents in a crowded mall. I also love how the story is told in flashback and it’s interesting to see Will Robinson (Maxwell Jenkins) as an adult reminiscing about his family while telling them all of these stories from space that we’ve heard before, but never had seen with our own eyes until now.

Season 3 Updates:

As for Season Three, there are some great moments like when Penny gets her memory back or when Judy saves Commander John Tyler and they finally kiss! Yet still, I feel like season two was better because of its wit and creativity whereas this one feels unoriginal at times because most episodes follow the same pattern which includes: spaceman captures someone → capture escape → crew has to save a person from being captured again → spacemen take hostages?

In this season, the family is still trying to get back to Earth but they are also dealing with a new problem: Penny! She’s being tormented by some of her memories and can’t seem to find peace. Alongside that issue, she was kidnapped in episode six and the crew had to save her from an oncoming storm. Not only did we finally see John Tyler again (with his beard!), he helped Judy rescue Penny which led them into another kiss as well!

Plot:

So while there were some good moments for me personally, I felt like Season Two delivered more entertainment value overall because it had not yet worn out its welcome at that point. It will be interesting what happens when Lost In Space comes back next year if Netflix has ordered Season Four.

Insight:

One of my favourite moments was when John Tyler finally came back after appearing in the first episode and he saved Judy from a storm that she wasn’t ready to face head-on! It’s interesting how they both just decided to go for it again with another kiss too – even though Penny is still there, living through this difficult time. I loved seeing their show of affection because as married people we have had our share of struggles but always try to be supportive which made me think about those who are not able to do the same thing (for one reason or another). Anyway, that moment felt like a victory for them so definitely worth mentioning here.
