Introduction 

Andor is a short-format web series that follows the life of Andor, a party-loving and quick-witted security guard at a high school in Toronto. Season one, streaming now on our YouTube channel, tells the story of how Andor got his job and met some of his friends. The show features an ensemble cast including: James Ouimet as Andor; Lawrence Prunty as Frank; Samantha Decline as Angie; Nichole Larocque as Abby; and Denis St. Amour as Brendan.

Andor is a web series created by Bobbylou Productions and is produced by Lawrence Prunty. It is written and directed by Bobbylou and Lawrence Prunty, with Nichole Larocque serving as producer.

Andor is a short-format web series that follows the life of Andor, a party-loving and quick-witted security guard at a high school in Toronto.

About web series

Written and directed by Hugo Canham, Andor tells the story of two space explorers who crash land on a planet with raging electromagnetic storms and are separated. The first season is based on ancient Norse lore of the lost star Sol.

Cast and crews of Andor – season 2 web series

Masa Kanai as Eric. Masa began acting when he was a kid. He landed a role in an award-winning short film and continued acting throughout high school. He studied politics and economics at the University of Toronto, but after a year left to pursue his passion of acting. Recently, he graduated from the Meisner program at The Second City in Toronto where his love for improvisation has grown even more.

Wendy Scott as Theresa. Wendy is a Toronto based actress and professional vocalist. She was most recently seen in the 2016 instalment of Nuit Blanche and in The Bonspiel Review at Second City.

Aidan McGrath as Kurt. Aidan graduated from Second City’s Conservatory Program and is currently a member of the Improv team “The Family Business” . He has been improvising for six years and his favourite thing to do is play games, so it was very exciting to be involved with Andor.

Theresa Garcia as The Teacher. Theresa has been improvising with Second City for almost 3 years. She is new to writing and directing, but it was a fantastic experience and she is very excited to see what the future holds for the producing team of Andor.

Riley MacPherson as Fergus. Riley has been improving since he was 15, both in Canada and the US. He’s worked at Second City and currently performs on the house team Wide Awake at The Annoyance Theatre in Chicago.

Noah Gardner as the Narrator. Noah is thrilled to be working on Andor, his first web series! He’s currently a student at Brown University, double-majoring in Archaeology and History of Art. He is passionate about bringing history alive to audiences and has been lucky enough to have the opportunity to do so in a variety of settings.

Andrew O’Brien as the Spirit Guide. Andrew is a well-seasoned character actor and member of Awesome Theatre, a Toronto based improv troupe. He previously appeared in Second City’s Open Mike and the Toronto Fringe Festival’s Dead Horse Comedy Festival. He is excited to be part of the Andor team bringing new life to an old legend.

Rebecca Siskin as Maid. Rebecca is a graduate of Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Ontario. She has studied improv at Second City, Improvathon and Humber College Theatre – Theatre Four. She is passionate about teamwork and has worked with companies such as Interprovincial Collaboration and the Bazaar: Arts & Culture Society. In addition, she has been an active member of the Toronto International Film Festival’s talent pool since 2007.

Lawrence Prunty as Frank. Lawrence has been performing improv for over 10 years and has a B.Scs. in Computer Science from the University of Toronto. He was inspired to pursue a career in acting after watching Second City’s Football Night in America and is excited to be part of Andor’s creative team.

Arpita Sarin as Riya. Arpita is a Toronto-based actress, producer and educator. She studied Theatre at York University before moving to New York to work in film and television. She has been teaching voice/dialects since 2013 with past students appearing on Once Upon a Time, The Borgias, Falling Skies, The Handmaid’s Tale and more.

What can we expect from the upcoming Andor season 2?

In Season 2, the exploration crew continues to track down their missing crewmate while making an effort to avoid detection. This leads to a conflict when a new alien race is discovered.

The team is keeping the same cast and same director, but it’s taking on a more cinematic feel with more VFX work. The show will be launched in September 2018 as a free web series through YouTube, Facebook Watch and other platforms.

What is the budget of Andor series?

The Andor team has spent a fair amount of money on the first season and is looking to do the same on Season 2. The main expenditure of this campaign will go towards paying for VFX services. 

That includes visual effects, 3D modeling, and more. Additional costs will be production insurance, film crew compensation and craft services (food), equipment rental and post production fees.

Release Date of Andor Webseries

Currently, episode 1 of Andor season 2 (YouTube and Facebook) is in post production with a release date expected in September 2018.

The show is also a nominee for a 2018 Canadian Screen Award for “Best Web Series” and “Best Ensemble Performance”, as well as two Canadian Comedy Awards for “Best Ensemble Performance” and “Best Writing”.

As of August 2018, the show has over 1 million views on YouTube.
