In a recent interview with Lee Cronin, he revealed that “Evil Dead Rise” would be the very first Evil Dead novel since 1981’s Dark Carnival and 1982’s The Evil Dead. The author of the original Evil Dead trilogy Don Dohler will join Cronin at this year’s Horror Con in Birmingham.
“Evil Dead Rise” is the prequel to “The Evil Dead”, and it tells the story of five teenagers who are spending Spring Break at a cabin in the Tennessee woods. The teens believe that they have found their way out of a storm, but once inside the cabin, they discover a hidden cellar door that sends them on an adventure from hell. After discovering an old book called Necronomicon Ex-Mortis AKA “The Book of the Dead”, they accidentally cause an evil entity to be unleashed.
‘Evil Dead Rise’ Release Date:
‘Evil Dead Rise’ is originally planned for a digital release on HBO Max, Evil Dead Rise is awaited to be released on 21 April 2023 in theaters, by Warner Bros. Pictures. As the book is released digitally first, the TV series will follow with a release on major networks, including Netflix, Comcast, and other networks in 2023. The first season will be available on Netflix and other networks on 29 August 2023.

About ‘Evil Dead Rise’:
It will be the first Evil Dead novel since 1981’s Dark Carnival, and 1982’s The Evil Dead. The novel will enlarge upon Scott’s film universe and include new characters such as Davey’s little sister Cissy and Junior O’Brien who was killed in “The Evil Dead” (1981) by Scott. Even though it is a prequel to The Evil Dead and a follow-up to the original trilogy, an entirely new story is told in ‘Evil Dead Rise’. ‘Evil Dead Rise’ Spoilers:
Evil Dead Rise begins with 5 teenagers spending Spring Break in a cabin in the woods. One of them, Cissy, is the sister of one of the young men named Davey, who gets killed by his evil dead uncle. The other four teens are Tariq, Bethany, and two guys named Josh and Andy.
The first scene takes place at a gas station, where Cissy’s brother buys cigarettes for her. He has only just remembered that he has a sister until he bumps into Tariq who knew him from when they were kids. Davey tells Tariq that he is spending his spring break in a cabin in the woods. Tariq says that it sounds like a good idea and ends up joining Davey’s group.
After walking around in the woods for hours, they finally find the cabin. They walk inside and go upstairs just to find out that there was another door right there all the time. Once downstairs, they discover an old book called Necronomicon Ex-Mortis AKA “The Book of the Dead”, which causes its readers to unleash an evil entity known as Kadath (The Keeper of Dead Ones), who eventually commands its followers to kill people to feed on their flesh.
