‘Black Adam 2’ Not Moving Forward in the “First Chapter” of New DC

Black Adam 2

Fans of comic books should be sad today. With the new DC Universe being announced last week, it seemed that Black Adam 2 was on its way to the big screen under the direction of Martin Campbell. Now, however, this project has been delayed indefinitely.

The first chapter of these new projects will be centered on taking down Steppenwolf with a living breathing New 52 Superman and Batman in tow. That said, with DC’s focus shifting from alternate universes to Earth-2, where most of their hero’s dwell and quite likely where their villains do too, it seems that Black Adam 2 may never happen at all now that we know about “First Chapter”.

Why is Black Adam 2 canceled?

The most recent DC cinematic project that was canceled was Black Adam 2. This long-awaited film seemed to be just around the corner, yet there were rumors of it having been pushed back indefinitely. While this rumor is not confirmed, it seems that DC is taking its time with it, adding a new project at the end of their upcoming ones.

There have been rumors going around recently saying Black Adam might be the villain in Shazam! This would make more sense now that it’s looking like Black Adam 2 has been pushed back indefinitely.

What will direct Black Adam 2, if it is not canceled?

The director of the upcoming Shazam movie, David F. Sandberg is also the director of two DC animated movies, Shazam! Sword of Heaven and Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. He could probably direct Black Adam 2 if it is not canceled, or he could just direct a DC animated film instead.

Who is Black Adam?

Black Adam was originally Teth-Adam, a slave of the Ancient Egyptian pharaoh. Teth-Adam killed the pharaoh and took his name to become Black Adam. Black Adam has been a member of the Marvel Family and one of the greatest heroes in Shazam history. He has often been pitted against Superman and Batman. He is by far one of the most popular DC characters today and it would be a shame if he were to stay in the shadows like this for years. He deserves a cinematic legacy of his own.

Why should this project be canceled?

When you think about it, DC could have put a lot of different villains in Shazam! And it is quite obvious that Black Adam is the most popular DC villain today. When you add in “First Chapter” to Shazam! this gives DC a lot of movie potential (predicting the next generation box office). Why not use him to start these new projects? Who knows, maybe even Black Adam 2 will start to appear after the first chapter has been released. Sadly, there is no way of knowing if they will use him now or never again after “First Chapter” is released.

“Black Adam” movie plot:

Black Adam was once Teth Adam, a slave of the Ancient Egyptian pharaohs. During his time as a slave, he was chosen to be an escort for the pharaoh’s reincarnated daughter, Isis. When she found out that her parents had made him her bodyguard instead of letting him go home after he earned his freedom, she used her powers to make him her equal so that they could be together. For this reason, Teth Adam could never really hate Isis for using her powers on him and would always love her in some way.

When Moses freed the slaves in Egypt, Teth-Adam joined him and was granted magical powers by a wizard named Ibis. He used these powers to defend Moses and the Israelites while they fled Egypt to escape the pharaoh’s wrath. While Moses and his followers were resting during the journey, Teth-Adam was given power by Ibis which enabled him to defeat an army of lions who were sent by the pharaoh to attack Moses and his followers.

Teth-Adam also fought alongside Jesus when he journeyed across the desert on his way to Jerusalem. It is also said that he joined Alexander the Great in his conquest of Egypt after Alexander freed him from slavery.

When Ibis passed away, Adam was granted more powers which enabled him to fight alongside Samson and Hercules in delivering the Israelites from their bondage.
