Vikings: Valhalla season 2

Netflix is continuing its Viking-themed adaption of Gods’ War with Vikings: Valhalla Season 2. The show has a wide variety of action and drama, as well as some high-quality production that keeps viewers hooked throughout. In season 1, viewers already became familiar with Shieldmaiden Aslaug and her two sons, Sigurd and Ivar. In season 2, audiences will also get to know another character named Erika (who is played by Swedish actress Eileen Daly), a new Shieldmaiden who will be watching out for Aslaug’s sons. Valhalla is the Viking’s heaven, and to get there one must die a glorious death in battle or through death in their sleep. Aslaug doesn’t want her boys to die before they reach adulthood, so she enlists the help of Erika and the other Shieldmaidens to ensure Sigurd and Ivar make it safely there.

No official air dates have been announced, however, the approximate air date for the second season premiere is expected to be sometime in July or August.

“Vikings: Valhalla season 2” trailer:

The trailer begins with a sword being drawn, portraying the action of the series. From there, a scene that looks like an old-timey battlefield is shown and the viewers will recognize Erika and Aslaug. As Aslaug stands in front of Shieldmaidens, she proclaims “Viking women believe wholeheartedly that every man should die a warrior’s death.” Then as she points at her two sons, she says “and I won’t let my sons down.” The trailer also gives subtitles for two quotes: “My son is not a coward” and “he must conquer or die.

 About “Vikings: Valhalla season 2”:

“Vikings: Valhalla season 2” is an American historical fiction television series created by Michael Hirst to explore the historical events of the Viking era in the early Middle Ages, through a fictionalized lens. The series follows a longboat crew that travels across the dangerous sea while acting as traders, explorers, land warriors, and ambassadors.

The first season has received mixed reviews from critics who have argued that even though it has an interesting premise, it’s bogged down with too much violence.

“Vikings: Valhalla season 2” cast:

The starring cast of “Vikings: Valhalla season 2” is Gustaf Skarsgard, Peter Franzén, Maude Hirst, Adam Copeland, Jasper Pääkkönen, Marco Ilsø, Jasper Pääkkönen, Tom Hopper, and George Blagden.

“Vikings: Valhalla season 2” Plot:

In Season 1 of “Vikings,” Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) continues to be a famous Viking ruler and his reputation for being a great warrior continues to grow. As his fame grows so does the concern for him from his fellow brothers on the west coast of Norway. One of the main concerns about “Vikings: Valhalla season 2” is how much violence will be included. The show does not shy away from showing death and battle in their full glory. The series even turns gruesome when it comes to deaths. One of the main characters, Ivar the Boneless, kills his brother Sigurd, who was a renowned warrior, by cutting off his legs with a sword and throwing him into the sea. Some viewers do find the violence disturbing, but others have no issue with it as long as there are good acting and compelling storylines. If a viewer wants to fast-forward through battle scenes, it is possible to do so.

The main focus of the show is to follow Ragnar Lothbrok, a Viking hero, and his sons as they take on the world. Ragnar is one of the most legendary rulers in Viking history and this series takes a different spin on events than others have. Instead of focusing on his time in battle or ruling at home, it focuses on his travels around Europe, North Africa, and Asia. The journey begins when Ragnar sets off to explore the Mediterranean Sea and North Africa in search of new opportunities. While there he meets lots of new people like Al-Mansur, an Arabic scholar who teaches him about Islam and tries to convert him.
