Jurassic Park is a 1993 American science fiction adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Gerald R. Molen. It is based on the 1990 novel of the same name by Michael Crichton, who also wrote the screenplay with director Crichton in mind. The film tells the story of a group of scientists who find a remote island occupied by dinosaurs that are genetically cloned to life. After a malfunction causes one to escape, it must be pursued and captured before it can destroy several major cities.
The film is set on Isla Sorna, an island off Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, where dinosaurs trapped in amber have been brought for study and research by John Hammond, a billionaire entrepreneur. His creation has escaped, and the company’s head geneticist, Dr. Ian Malcolm, is called to Isla Sorna to lead a team of experts in tracking down the last surviving dinosaur. After an accident involving a palaeontologist named Dennis Nedry and security guard Osborn, the park’s caretaker, Ray Arnold believes the dinosaurs on Isla Sorna could be dangerous.
An electric procedure called a “fence” is used to isolate different dinosaurs for study and observation. For example, the Velociraptor is placed on a small island called the “Pachycephalosaurus Paddock ” where it can’t get out. Due to a misunderstanding by Arnold, the island’s power was shut off and that allowed the dinosaurs to escape via underground tunnels. The dinosaurs begin attacking everything in sight. Hammond asks for help from John Hammond and his technology consultant Ian Malcolm.
Malcolm predicts that the dinosaurs will go towards water because they are cold blooded(cold blooded animals seek heat).
