Darby Harper is given the gift to see ghosts and she has an uncle who helps her deal with the ghosts. But when Darby interacts with popular girl Capri, who dies in a fire, she realises there’s an unearthly amount of secrets that can be hidden in plain sight.

The plot twist makes sense when you realise that Capri isn’t really alive in any sense of the word. She was a ghost all along. Darby was hallucinating the entire time she was interacting with Capri. The Dark Truth of Capri
Darby was given the responsibility to help Capri because she saw some skeletons in her closet. Darby was the only one who knew or found out that Capri was a user of steroids. The steroids made her alter herself such that no one would recognize her. This is the reason why she needed Darby’s help. When Darby and her friends visited Capri in the cemetery, they realised that she was a ghost. The Capri wasn’t normal because of the steroids.
