‘Indiana Jones, the globetrotting archaeologist and treasure hunter that has been entertaining audiences since 1981 is coming back! With a new generation of fans eager for his return, Harrison Ford is set to star in the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones series. Written by Mangold, Jez Butterworth, and John-Henry Butterworth, it will be set in a new era.
A character created and played by Harrison Ford, the archaeologist made his first appearance in Raiders of the lost Ark. He went on to star in three more films: Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. On July 19, 2008 Paramount Pictures announced a fifth film was in development. In February 2010 it was announced that George Lucas would produce the film with Stephen Spielberg as director and Frank Darabont as writer. In October 2012 Spielberg stated that he wanted Ford to return for a fifth instalment but it was unclear if he would reprise his role as Indiana Jones.
He is good natured, a strong moral code, a family man, and has a soft spot for ethics. He is able to hold his own with believability against the toughest of bad guys while keeping the spirit of adventure alive. His personality reinforces his character traits as a true hero in all respects who tells it like it is, no matter how brutal or ugly the truth might be.
George Lucas and Spielberg originally discussed the possibility of a fifth film in 2008, but never set a firm release date. It was reported in March 2010 that Lucas had left the project and was instead developing an Indiana Jones TV series, but that idea was abandoned. In October 2011, Spielberg announced they were back on Indiana Jones 5 and had developed a script
In the fifth instalment of the Indiana Jones franchise, it will be the final film. Harrison Ford returns to reprise his age-defying role as archaeologist Dr. Henry “Indiana” Jones in what already looks like an incredible adventure full of classic action, comedy and drama with a promising story line, lots of returning faces and an all-new cast of younger stars who’ll set the stage for Indy’s final act before hanging up his whip for good.
Although John Williams did not compose the music, it was announced by George Lucas in September 2018 that he would compose the music for Indiana Jones 5.
