Chris Hemsworth, in the role of Agent Will Shaw, speaks about how the stunts for Extraction 2 are more “satisfying” than those for Marvel. “I think there’s a different kind of satisfaction when you see your work,” Hemsworth said during an interview with Collider.
He elaborated on the stunt work he did in Extraction 2 and what he has learned: “You know, I’ve been really lucky to not have any major injuries up until this point, but you know I’ve seen so many people get hurt doing it and it’s one of those things that is great fun but also daunting because you know that at any moment it could be your turn to go over the edge.
Extraction 2, the follow-up to Sam Hargrave’s popular action thriller on Netflix starring Chris Hemsworth, will debut on the platform sometime in 2023.
It’s brief, but it does a good job of serving as a reminder of how the previous movie ended, with Tyler Rake diving headfirst into a river in mortal peril after suffering a wound while defending his charge.
Since then, there has been another teaser for the film, which this time combines behind-the-scenes and film clip material. But there’s still no sign of a real story trailer, so we’ll have to wait a little longer.
The cast and characters played by them in the film “EXTRACTION 2” is as follows:
The follow-up to Sam Hargrave’s action thriller on Netflix with Chris Hemsworth is titled “EXTRACTION 2.” Sometime in 2023, “EXTRACTION 2” will make its platform premiere.
Chris Hemsworth is back as Agent Will Shaw, a man who lives by a simple rule: don’t get involved in a situation you can’t solve alone. This time, however, his boss – played by Michael Nyqvist – has sent him to Russia after Russia has been overthrown by a crime syndicate.
Hemsworth said that his character goes in thinking he’s “just going to be doing some work for the government, tracking down a couple of assassins, and then he’s going to go back home. But somehow things have gotten more complex, and he is sort of drawn into something much bigger than himself.”
Extraction 2 is about to start filming, but due to concerns about the COVID-19 closure, this stage of production will take place somewhere else.
Extraction 2 was initially scheduled to shoot in Australia, but Netflix and producers Joe and Anthony Russo’s production business AGBO Productions informed the crew, which was preparing in New South Wales, that they would be closing up shop. According to Variety, Chris Hemsworth’s schedule and the “increasing concerns associated with shooting in Australia” cleared the door for the move of Extraction 2, which will now take place in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. Due to the COVID-19 delta variant, New South Wales is under lockdown until September 30. Sydney and Melbourne are also.
The movie budget for “Extraction 2” is estimated to be $45M. Director Sam Hargrave has said, “the budget is right around $45m. We’re still in the exploratory stage talking with different execs and financiers, but we’re meeting with people simultaneously and we’re optimistic we’ll get the next one going.”
After narrowly escaping his mission in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with terrible wounds, Tyler Rake has returned, and his crew is ready to start their next operation. Tyler is tasked with saving a family that is being held captive by a Georgian criminal by infiltrating one of the deadliest prisons in the world. However, when things go heated during the extraction and the gangster perishes in the fray, his equally brutal brother pursues Rake and his team to Sydney to exact revenge.
