The third season of ‘Dead to Me’ started on Netflix last week. Season 3 is meant to be more of a wrap up for the series rather than continuation. They aired two episodes and then dropped them online for people watching via an app on their TV or computer instead. That’s what I did, so I was able to watch the show immediately after it premiered.
As always, The finished of the second season , which ends in a cliffhanger that leaves things wide open for Season 3. The characters are sticking around for now, but in my opinion it feels like a TV show rather than a potential continuation like the books are. There are too many characters with too many separate stories for the show to resolve all of them.
The first season was strong and focused. It had that same feeling of the book in its first half, where everything was still fresh and exciting. Season 2 suffered because of the longer break between seasons, as well as a lack of focus as it went into more complex stories with more characters. I’m afraid Season 3 will be proof that the show was stretched too far beyond what made it work in the first place.
There’s a lot of stuff going on this season. We’re not just following Jen and Judy anymore, but also several other characters who were briefly introduced in the first two seasons. There is an episode that focuses on each of them, including some of the characters we’ve barely seen before
The ending of Season 3 was a Very Emotional It offered the closure that you’d expect from a third season. If anything, it even left out more details than in previous episodes. They teased just about every possible story arc and then left them all dangling at the end. It’s almost impossible to imagine a hypothetical Season 4 that could make sense of everything in this season while keeping each of the characters involved at an appropriate level.
There’s just so much going on in this season and I wish it would have stayed focused on Jen, Judy and Henry.
The last season is very emotional. and the end of jen is so heartbroken. If you have watched the first two seasons, you must watch this one.I think the show is doing a great job with its cast which is why I don’t really like that they are using these “side” characters. They’re not all that interesting and it makes Jen, Judy and Henry less important to the story line.
