The show is an American drama series that follows the lives of a group in New York City and their friends. The main themes are racism, LGBT+ discrimination, and HIV/AIDS. Season one starts with Blanca Rodriguez (MJ) walking through her neighborhood as she’s harassed by people who assume because she has long hair that there must be more than just women underneath it all. In season two, we see Pray Tell evolve from his drag roots- he used to only do underground shows but then got a job. She eventually finds herself in front of the Mott Street community center which is a place where she can find housing, education as well as help for her HIV.

Review:

The first two seasons have been very powerful and inspiring for many people in the transgender community.

This season will be of interest to those who want to see more trans representation on TV, as well as anyone looking forward to a high-quality drama series with an LGBTQ+ perspective.

Pose has done a great job not only representing various forms of queer identities but also showing how they bleed into other parts of life like family, fashion, music, and activism. It’s refreshing to watch characters dealing with problems that are often overlooked by mainstream media outlets – housing instability, immigration raids at gay bars and ballrooms or just being able to find steady employment.”

Pose season three is set in 1987 and will follow the characters into new territory, with storylines that are more entrenched than ever. Some of these stories include Blanca Rodriguez (Mj Rodriguez) trying to get pregnant by her boyfriend Hector Campos (Robert Valencia), Elektra Abundance’s rise as a fashion designer, Damon Richards’ (Ryan Jamaal Swain) journey from twinkie-boy to adult film star, Pray Tell’s public outing on national television and his ensuing expulsion from the ballroom scene, or Angel Evangelista’s attempts at launching an acting career while being estranged from their mother.”

The first two seasons have been very powerful and inspiring for many people in the transgender community. This season is set to be even more impactful as we watch characters such as Blanca Rodriguez, Elektra Abundance and other females try to stand firm in this difficult time period.”

Blanca (Mj Rodriguez) will try to get pregnant by her boyfriend Hector Campos (Robert Valencia). She also tries convincing him of the importance of becoming a father because she feels that he won’t understand how important it is for their child’s identity to know they were made from love, instead of rape or violence.
