13 Reasons Why: Reviews, Cast, and Plot! Will there be any more seasons?

13 Reasons Why is a Netflix original series that has taken the world by storm. The show follows Hannah Baker, who commits suicide and leaves behind 13 tapes. For her classmates to listen to in an attempt to shed some light on why she made this decision.

Season 1:

Season One begins with high school student Clay Jensen receiving a package from his late friend Hannah’s mother. Containing seven cassette tapes recorded by Hannah before she killed herself. We follow Clay as he listens through all of these different recordings; while remembering how they met in junior high when their parents were neighbours.

The first few tapes are fairly upbeat, but by the later ones, Hannah is clearly struggling with her mental health. And it’s not a pretty picture.

Season one closes out on an emotional high as Clay comes to grips with what he heard; recognizing that his friend needed help and should have received more support from those around her.

Season 2:

We soon learn that in season two we will be following someone else – Tyler – who has now been labelled as “the new Hannah”. It seems like every teenager goes through something difficult at some point during their school career — maybe they’re being bullied, or perhaps they have family problems at home, so this second season can show us how these things may play out in different ways.

All the cast members from season one are returning, and we’ll also be hearing Hannah’s voice through phone calls to her parents.

Season 3:

Season three is currently in the writing stages and will be released on Netflix when it’s finished.

Plot: The show follows high school student Clay Jensen who receives seven cassette tapes of recordings from his classmate and crushes Hannah Baker – a girl who committed suicide two weeks earlier because she was bullied extensively to the point where she could no longer deal with it all. On each tape are 13 reasons why her life ended too soon. But not just anyone can listen to them; one must go through an emotional journey of their own first.

One of the most gripping shows airing right now is 13 Reasons Why, which follows high school student Clay Jensen as he deals with his classmate Hannah Baker’s suicide in Season One. This was one of Netflix’s best decisions ever made so far because it tackles very real issues that teenagers today deal with – bullying, depression, sexuality. It also doesn’t shy away from difficult topics like rape or attempted suicide – though not for easy entertainment purposes to reflect reality.

Season 4:

Netflix has been quiet about whether or not it’ll come back for another series – however, we can speculate based on what people are saying! Cast member Dylan Minnette said: “I’d love to do something again, I really care about these characters. But it feels like this story is finished as much as you could ever.

Season four is confirmed as being on the way, but it’s not quite clear when or what will happen in this new season.

Season three left us with a lot of questions, and some answers may come in the form of time jumps.

The cast is confirmed to return for season four, but it’s not clear which characters will be at the forefront. It seems likely that there will still be more tapes though! Will they finally find out who raped Hannah? And why hasn’t Clay been able to move on from what happened? There are so many unanswered questions.

No more Seasons?

There are currently no plans for any more 13 Reasons Why seasons – but who knows what may happen! Unfortunately, we don’t know – but if Netflix does release another series then I’ll update this blog post to include everything you need to know about it!

Ratings: 13 Reasons Why has a rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes with over 72 reviews, and an average score of seven out of ten. It also holds the record for most consecutive days as Netflix’s number one show in 2017 (ending).
