Ragnarok Season 2: Premiere, Release Date, Cast and Plot

It’s been a long wait, but the day is finally here. Ragnarok Season 2 has come to Netflix. And it couldn’t have come at a better time, as we’re all just recovering from the Thor: Ragnorak movie that was released in theatres last year. If you loved the first season of Ragnarok, then this second season will not disappoint either! In this article, I’ll go over everything you need to know about the new season of Ragnarok coming to Netflix today. I’ll talk about the cast, plot and release date before I give you my final thoughts on this new season.

Ragnarok Cast:

So there are a lot of new faces in this second season. The most notable is the newest God, Loki Laufeyson, played by Christopher Judge. He’s been causing some trouble for Thor and his friends since he was introduced during Season One. There are also two new female characters that we meet in this season: Mokk (played by Sienna Bohn) and Yggdrasil (played by Rya Kihlstedt). I’m not sure who these two women are or what they’re capable of doing yet, but it will be fun to find out as we get closer to the end of the series!

Ragnarok Plot:

The Season One finale left us on a cliffhanger with the return of Odin and Thor’s coronation. This season picks up as if nothing has happened since then, we see some new faces outside of Asgard while they celebrate Thor becoming king and Loki begins to stir things up. Some scenes take place in New York City where Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) is now living along with her scientist friends Darcy Lewis (played by Tessa Thompson) and Erik Selvig (played by Stellan Skarsgard). We get more insight into what these three scientists have been working on for the past few years which I won’t spoil here but it takes them all over the world!

Season 2 Storyline:

Release Date:

Season Two premiers on November 27th at 12 am EST/11 pm PST exclusively on Netflix for those who want their binge-watching fix before Christmas!

In Season Two we see how these new characters react to everything from what’s happening back home in Asgard or even their own personal lives. We also get introduced to some new ones such as Valkyrie played by Tessa Thompson who joins forces with Thor and other warriors like her along the way during an adventure which I won’t spoil here but it’s been months since we’ve seen her on the big screen.

What’s to come in Season Two:

The way Valkryie is portrayed, she’s not only a warrior but also an intellectual with aspirations of becoming one of Asgard’s most powerful sorceresses and even taking over for Odin himself when he can’t do it anymore because that sounds like some solid girl power right there. We’ll find out about Thor and Loki along the way as well which I won’t spoil here either so you’ll have to watch… or read.

Asgardian politics will be explored more this season since we know what happened last time around with Loki being all manipulative and everything, don’t worry though his character has been changed from its original

Thor and Loki will be explored more this season with their complex relationship, don’t worry though his character has been changed from its original

Hela was a badass villain last time around but now she’s just the Goddess of Death which is kinda lame. I guess we’ll see what happens.

Plot revolves around an ancient prophecy where Ragnarok could mean doom for Asgard (and earth) or it may not happen at all; hmmm… Interesting!
