Taylor Swift Made Another Record At VMAs 2020

The MTV Video Music Awards only have one month left, they will perform on August 30, but by being nominated today (July 30), many artists made history at the VMAs. Check it out.

Taylor Swift has been nominated for the video for “The Man” one year after winning the “You Man to Call Down” category. She is the first cast to return to the final, winning after her nemesis, now Pal, Katy Perry was nominated in 2012 for “Wide Awake”, winning for “Firework.” One year later. In the entire history of the VMAs, only three other artists have made it to the final after winning: Eminem (who did it twice), Britney Spears and Beyoncé.

Swift, who won the social videos for good category last year for the LGBTQ movie “You Need to Call Down,” is in defence of the feminist theme “The Man.” After John Legend and Big Sean, you have a chance to become the winner for the third time in this category.

Drake has linked Rihanna and U2 to the most professional video of the year from a non-American born artist, each with four nods. Drake has been named a special on Future’s “Life Is Good” this year after nods to “Take Care” (featuring Rihanna), “Hotline Bling” and “God’s Plan.”

The Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande collaboration “Rain on Me” is only the fifth All-Women’s collaboration in VMA history to receive NM Video of the Year. In particular, Gaga was on board for two of them. He worked closely with Beyoncé on “Telephone” (2010). “The Girl Is Mine” by Brandi and Monica (1998), Christina Aguilera, Lil ‘Kim, Maya and P! NK’s “Lady Myriad” (with Missy Elliott, 2001). And Iggy Azalia with “Fancy” by Charlie XCX (2014).

Gaga is the only artist to have been nominated for the three highest-profile awards: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song. In the three years since the VMAs presented all three awards, this is the sixth time an artist has done a clean sweep. Camila Cabello, Drake, and Bruno Mars were named in all three categories in 2018. The Grande and Jonas Brothers were named in three categories last year.

J. Balwyn, who has won the Best Latino Video award for the past two years, has the opportunity to extend his streak in a row to three consecutive years. He’s nominated for “Yellow.” He won the last two years with “Mr Gant”, a collaboration with Willie William (2018), and “Con Ultra”, a collaboration with Rosalía (with El Gino, 2019).

The Jonas Brothers, who won best pop video last year for “Soaker,” are back to defend their title with “What a Man Gotta Do.” He has a chance to become the third act in this category to win two years after ‘N Sync (2000-01) and Spears (2008-09).
