The series is produced by UK-based Andor Productions, owned by Red Arrow Studios and Austria’s MR Film and is based on Frank Tallis’ best-selling Liberman novels.
Three new 90-minute episodes have been commissioned for the coming year, once again adapted by Deep State and Sherlock Scribby Johnson. BBC Two stations in the UK and PBS in the United States have resumed the second season following a successful career of the first season.
The program has been sold in many other countries including France, Spain, Finland, China, Japan and other regions of Central and Eastern Europe.
Vienna Blood follows young English doctor Max Lieberman (Matthew Beard) and Detective Inspector Oskar Rinehart (Juergen Maurer) as they investigate a series of unusual and disturbing murders in 1900 Vienna.
Endorse Productions is behind projects such as Ronald Dahl’s Deep State and Asio Trot, while the MR film starred Maximilian and Dasar.

The first series starred Matthew Beard as the main character Max Liebermann, with the support of Sigmund Freud, and was set in 1900 in Vienna. Contacting Liebermann Osort Rheinhardt, played by Tatort’s Juergen Maurer, he is called in by a detective who is struggling with a bizarre murder case to help solve the investigation.
