The Addams Family 2: Is The Sequel Of Animated Film Happening?

Just a few days after the theatrical and bland family comedy debuted in theatres, MGM has already revealed plans to make the sequel. The release date was set for October 22, 2021. How terrible and terrible it was for franchise fans.

Over the weekend, The Addams Family captivated audiences with a debut of $ 35 million over four days. The family film, in particular, benefited from Columbus Day on Monday, where it earned just $ 4.8 million, while nearly half of the K-12 students were out for the day. This is not by any means a record number, but a sufficient success for the studio to continue the franchise with another film.

In keeping with the Addams Family’s weekend opening competition, the creepy animated film was well organized. When The Joker went above $ 500 million in its second weekend for a release acclaimed by critics and fans alike, the Adams family topped the Will Smith film, directed by Oscar-winning director Ang Lee. The Addams Family has an incredibly talented cast to play Morticia and Gomez Adams alongside Charlize Theron and Oscar Issac. On Wednesday, her children and Pugsley are played by Chloe Grace Moretz and Finn Wolford from Stranger Things. Nick Kroll of Big Mouth is Uncle Fuster, Snoop Dogg, Bett Midler is a grandmother, Allison Jenny plays the villain as Parker, the daughter of new house host Margaux Needler and eighth-grader Elsie Fisher.

The animated film marks the first time that the Adams family has lived on the big screen in 26 years. The estate was last revived in the early 1990s by Barry Sonnenfeld (who also directed Men in the Black Trilogy). This 2019 version was directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon, who collaborated on the animated comedy Sausage Party.

The Addams Family received a good response among filmmakers with 70% audience on Rotten Tomatoes and B + Cinemascore. However, critics did not fully enjoy the film, giving it a rotten 39% and CinemaBlend’s Will Ashton rated 2.5 out of 5 stars in its reviews.
