Venom 2: Release Date and Details

Venom: Let There Be Carnage aka Venom 2 is an American upcoming movie of superheroes of Marvel Comics, which is based on the character ‘Venom’ and is directed by Andy Serkis. The movie is produced in association with Marvel by Columbia Pictures. Sony Pictures Universe will be releasing its third movie of Marvel characters. This film is a sequential part of Venom which was released in 2018.

Production Date:

The production of Venom 2 was started in January 2019 when Harrelson and Hardy returned along with the writer Marcel. The filming was done in England at Leavesden Studio from November 2019 to February 2020. The next destination of the filming took place in San Francisco in February. The title of the movie was declared in April 2020.

Release Date:

The movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage aka Venom 2 had been scheduled to release on 25th June 2021 in the United States in 700mm film and IMAX. The original date of release of the movie was on 2nd October 2020, but the release date had been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Casting and Starring

  • Tom Hardy portraying as Eddie Brock will be playing the role of Venom.
  • Woody Harrelson portraying as Cletus Kasady will be playing the role of Carnage.
  • Michelle Williams portraying as Anne Weying playing the role of District Attorney.
  • Reid Scott portraying as Dan Lewis playing the role of a doctor.
  • Naomie Harris portraying as Shriek.

There are two undisclosed roles that will be cast by Stephen Graham and Sean Delaney.

Netflix Release:

Previously, Venom 2018 was not premiered on Netflix. In 2011, Sony Studio held off its film from Netflix due to the issue of contract which stated that Netflix didn’t allow streaming their movie after a certain number of subscribers were reached in Netflix. It is still unknown whether Netflix is still be holding the contract but Sony keeps almost all the movies off Netflix. The only exception was Spider-Man 3, in which Venom was being portrayed by Topher Grace which was dropped in Netflix in early 2018, but the movie is now not there in Netflix and there is no sign or news of the appearance of any Sony movies in the Netflix in future.

Plot:

During the production of Venom (2018), there was already a plan for a sequential movie of it. Harrelson, who had portrayed the role of Cletus Kasady, makes a brief appearance at the end of the movie Venom. He had the intention of becoming Carnage, the villain of the movie in the next sequential part. In addition to this, there will be two villains in Venom 2. Naomie Harris will be playing the role of Shriek portraying as a villain and in the upcoming part, she will be the companion of Carnage. In the upcoming part, a new character will be introduced who is the brother or the son of Carlton Drake as they look similar and he will be portraying as Agent Venom.

Trailer:

It was expected that the trailer would be out on April 2020 but till now there has been no sign of any trailer of Venom 2. Instead, we got a teaser that revealed nothing other than the name of the movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. There have been other news of Venom 3 as Hardy had already confirmed that he had signed for the third sequential part of the movie Venom in August 2018.
