Gossip Girls Reboot : Storyline ,Expected Release date and New Updates

Gossip Girl is an American Teenager Drama based Television Web Series based on a Novel Gossip Girl written by Cecily von Ziegesar and published by Little, Brown, and Company from the year 2002 to 2011.

The Show is getting released back as a reboot on HBO Max with ten long-hour episodes after 8 years of the end of the original series. Its previous show took the lead of Leighton Meester, Blake Lively, and Penn Badgley and got streamed for six seasons continuously between the years 2007 to 2012 and then ended. But now the show is arriving back for the young minds of this generation with the creators of the previous series, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage returning as executive producers. The executive producer of the previous series of ‘Gossip Girl’, Joshua Safran will now act as the showrunner or the leading producer. These are the latest updates for the upcoming show till now.

Release Date

The reboot was expected to be released by the end of 2020 but due to the outbreak of pandemic caused by COVID-19, it has been delayed. As the chief content officer of HBO Max, Kevin Reilly reported to Vulture in May that the production has not been started yet. They were in pre-production and ready to commence but the pandemic knocked. So, now there is a very little chance of its release this year and it is most likely to be released by mid of the year 2021.

  • The show will follow the lives of Private School Teenagers living in New York.
  • We will get to see some new faces as well in this reboot which includes Code Black Actress Emily Alyn Lind, Whitney Peak, Johnathan Fernandez, Eli Brown, and Jason Gotay.
  • Kristen Bell will again be back in her role for narrating the series.
  • The new group of teenagers in the show will still attend the same Constance Billiard Girls School on New York’s Upper East Side.

The Gossip Girl Reboot is not going to release on Netflix as this time it is going to be released on HBO Max only.

The early Costume Designer of the show, Eric Daman is also returning officially in the reboot.
